A tragedy struck at the Quakerwoods Campground in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night as a woman lost her life when a tree fell onto her camper.
The victim, identified as Cynthia Cousins, 69, from Bensalem, was camping with her family when the fatal incident occurred. Bucks County Coroner Patricia Campi confirmed that Cousins was inside the camper at the time of the accident. Despite immediate response, she was pronounced deceased at the scene, with her body subsequently transported to the coroner’s office.
The coroner’s report indicated that Cousins sustained fatal blunt head and torso injuries as a result of the tree collapse. Coroner Campi concluded that the incident was accidental.
Remarkably, Cousins’ husband, Bob, was also inside the camper during the incident. He survived the ordeal, albeit with minor injuries after being ejected from the camper upon impact, as per statements from the family to Fox 29 Philadelphia.
Gary Darnell, Cousins’ brother, expressed the family’s deep sorrow, noting that they had been regular visitors to the campground for over four decades. Cousins, a grandmother, was described as exceedingly proud of her grandchildren by her family.
The tragic accident has cast a somber shadow over the cherished memories the family had created over the years at the campground.
