Indiana AG Rokita Pursues Legal Action Against Disgraced Sheriff Jamey Noel, Family, and Associate for Alleged $4M Theft

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita sued Jamey Noel, his wife, his three children, and Kevin Wilkerson, a member of the UTVFA board, in a new civil case.

There are now two civil lawsuits against Jamey Noel, his family, and a former business partner for reportedly stealing over $4 million from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office or Noel’s publicly funded fire and EMS companies. The money needs to be paid back.

The first lawsuit was brought against Noel, Kenneth Hughbanks, who used to be sheriff of Scott County, and Auto-Owners Insurance on Friday. Noel and Hughbanks do not own or run Auto-Owners Insurance. However, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita says Noel bought cars with bonds from the insurance business.

On Wednesday, court staff shared information about a second lawsuit that was also filed on Friday against Jamey Noel, his wife Misty Noel, their children Gracy, Kasey, and Josey, and Kevin Wilkerson, who works for the Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association (UTVFA).

The defendants are being sued again for over $3.1 million that they are said to have stolen from the UTVFA and spent on personal things.

Additionally, the attorney general requested a temporary restraining order that would stop all defendants, except for Wilkerson, from selling their homes or liquidating their possessions.

There is proof that Kasey started the process of selling her house on Old Salem Road, and Misty has taken steps to try and sell at least 21 cars that she either owns with Jamey or on behalf of Jamey.

The special judge in charge of Jamey, Misty, and Kasey’s criminal cases is Judge Larry Medlock. He is also in charge of both of these claims.

As told, Jamey must show up in Washington County Court on May 20.

Attempted theft, tax evasion, shady business practices, ghost jobs, and official misconduct are some of the 25 felonies he is facing.
