According to authorities, a baby’s death discovered on the 405 Freeway on Monday morning is tied to a gory crime scene in Woodland Hills. Both events may possibly be related to a fatal wreck that occurred in Redondo Beach.
Over the course of many hours on Monday, the devastation was found in three different places in the Los Angeles region. The investigators discovered connections between each occurrence as they began to examine each one.
First, a newborn girl, estimated to be approximately six months old, was discovered between lanes of traffic on the 405 Freeway in the Westchester region around 4:30 in the morning. She was confirmed dead. A second girl, aged seven or eight, was discovered injured on the side of the road and sent to the hospital.
Then, at around five in the morning, Redondo Beach was the scene of a fatal collision. It looks like a woman was killed at the scene after colliding with a tree at a high rate of speed.
The LAPD’s Topanga division was then alerted to the presence of a man’s body at an apartment building on Variel Avenue in Woodland Hills about 7:30 in the morning.
According to the police, there are clear connections between the 405 and Woodland Hills occurrences. Eyewitness News has been informed by sources that the older girl who was hurt on the freeway witnessed the murder in Woodland Hills.
The lady who died in the collision in Redondo Beach is still being identified by the county medical examiner in order to establish her link to the other events.
It is unknown what such connections are or how the incidents transpired.
“At this time, Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are working with the California Highway Patrol on the incident involving the two children and believe it is connected to the Topanga (Woodland Hills) homicide scene,” the Los Angeles Police Department posted on X.
“They are also collaborating with the Redondo Beach Police Department and the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office to determine if that scene is related to the homicide on Variel.”

At around 7:30 a.m., the corpse of a man was discovered face down at the Montecito apartments on Variel Avenue in Woodland Hills. How long he had been dead before he was discovered remained unknown.

In the garage, a black car was likewise surrounded by crime scene tape. There was also damage to the garage gate.
In the middle of the night, neighbors reported to Eyewitness News that they heard loud arguments coming from a unit in the building.
A 26-year-old resident of the building adjacent to the flat claims to have witnessed a gory scene early in the morning.
“Their door was wide open, there was blood on the floor leading into their apartment, and then a trail of it in the hallway leading up to the elevator and I saw some blood on the wall,” she continued.
Her Dad Made a 911 Call
“Called the police and told them that something was not right,” he said. “And they instructed me to go in and check on the body when I spoke with the EMT.” Thus, I did. And there he lay, dead, facedown on the ground. There was also a good deal of blood.”
The issue is still being looked into. The victim’s identity is still unknown.
Little Child Discovered on 405
The California Highway Patrol states that the event involving the kids discovered on the 405 was initially reported near Centinela Avenue in the Westchester region around 4:30 in the morning. After receiving many 911 calls regarding a medical emergency involving two youngsters, officers were dispatched to the scene.
They discovered two wounded youngsters when they got there.
The little girl, who is thought to be between five and six months old, was discovered in the northbound 405 traffic lanes. At the scene, she was pronounced deceased.
Another youngster, who was brought to a neighboring hospital after being discovered with injuries on her right shoulder, was thought to be between seven and nine years old.
According to information obtained by Eyewitness News, the elder child may have witnessed the fatal stabbing at the Woodland Hills residence.
When the kids were discovered, no adults were present at the interstate scene.
While the specifics of the kids’ injuries and how they ended there on the road remain unknown, the CHP is requesting assistance from the public. We are asking anyone who may have passed by that location while driving back to examine dash cam footage.
According to CHP Officer Isabel Diaz, “witnesses claim there was a black sedan in the area at the time of the incident.” They only suggested that they may be involved, without specifying their relationship. We would appreciate it if you could call with any information if you were in the vicinity of northbound 405 near Centinela Avenue around roughly 4:30 (a.m.”).
