Three Seriously Injured in Fiery I-10 Crash After Tractor-trailer Hydroplanes Into Oncoming Traffic

On Monday morning, a crash on I-10 West in Escambia County critically injured two men and seriously injured a woman.

It occurred around 8 a.m. on I-10 West, near mile marker 7.5. The accident closed all lanes for several hours.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 55-year-old lady from Geneva, Alabama, was driving a tractor-trailer east on Interstate 10. Meanwhile, two cars were heading west: a truck tractor driven by a 39-year-old Kissimmee man and a sedan driven by a 25-year-old Fairhope man.

According to FHP, the tractor-trailer hydroplaned and crossed the median onto the westbound travel lanes, colliding with the truck tractor. The truck tractor then collided with the automobile, which went off the road and wrecked.

The 39-year-old Kissimmee male and the 25-year-old Fairhope man were both sent to the hospital with significant injuries. The 55-year-old Geneva woman was also taken with severe injuries.

All lanes in the region have reopened by 10:40 a.m.
