Restaurant Manager Punched in the Eye for Lemonade by Dissatisfied Customer and also a Convicted Felon in Michigan

The manager of a restaurant chain was beaten by a dissatisfied customer in Livonia. The incident happened after a one-sided argument turned violent.

The main reason of the incident is said to be a glass of lemonade. The manager is identified as Susan Rains.

It is said that a customer struck Susan Rains because they didn’t want to pay for their drinks.

“He dumped the drink on me first, and then he smashed it on the side of my head,” Rains said. “Then he just punched me in the eye, and I fell to the ground.”

“I’ve been to two hospitals, and too many doctors, counselors and what not that I can’t even count,” she said.

Things happened in early April. Rains hit her head, got a black eye, and had to have stitches put in her head.

She said that two guests had problems with their steak, so Rains took it off the bill and apologized very much.

The customers tore up the ticket and threw it at her, even though she left $6 worth of drinks on the bill. The suspect, Deshaun Kelly, was with the two buyers and assisted them.

Couple and Kelley left quickly, leaving the manager in the diner unconscious.

“We were toe-to-toe. Literally toe-to-toe, and eye-to- eye. And he’s calling me all kinds of nasty, horrible names,” Rains said. The attack “happened so fast; nobody could’ve stopped it.”

“I was told… they just kind of walked over and around me like I was a piece of garbage,” Rains said.

The event was caught on video. Livonia cops were able to arrest Kelly a week later thanks to facial recognition. He was accused of attack.

The boss will go back to work next Monday, but she will still be going to treatment for her mental health.

Kelly was given a cash bond of $50,000. This is the second time that Kelly has broken the law. He admitted to violent robbery before, in 2015.
