When Nikki Haley announced in March that she would be withdrawing her candidacy for the Republican nomination for president, she stated that Donald Trump would need to “earn the votes of those in our party, and beyond it, who did not support [him].”
It turns out that he didn’t even need to do that, as the former governor of South Carolina revealed on Wednesday that she intends to vote for the former president, despite the fact that she had earlier stated that she did not believe he could defeat Joe Biden.
During an event held at the Hudson Institute in Washington, Haley, who served as the United Nations ambassador during Trump’s presidency, declared, “I will be voting for Trump.” In spite of everything, I continue to stand by what I stated in my speech regarding the suspension.
As a result of Haley’s statement that Trump is unfit to be president and the fact that she is still scoring double-digits in GOP primaries two and a half months after suspending her campaign, many people on X (which was formerly known as Twitter) deemed her to be a hypocrite.
Oh, and when it got really bad.
