In that case, individuals can apply for the Real ID online and get it in the mail within 15 business days. Moreover, going to an authorized licensing center will be required for individuals who must physically submit the papers.
The Real ID will be mailed after the documents have been checked and scanned there. The procedure can be finished in a single visit at certain centers for people who would rather get it right away. Waiting until the last minute is not the best option, according to the Department of Transportation.
