Not Working the Guilty Criminal Who Opened Fire in the Food Court in Atlanta Was Shot by a Police Officer. Three People Were Hurt

Three people were hurt when a gunman opened fire in an Atlanta food court Tuesday afternoon. An off-duty police officer shot the shooter.

Around 2:30 p.m., police went to Peachtree Center in downtown Atlanta.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said that four people were shot at the Peachtree Center Food Court, including the person who is thought to have done the shooting. He told X that the building was locked down at the time.

Chief of Police for Atlanta Darin Schierbaum said that a 34-year-old man went into the food hall and got into a fight with another man.

The person who is thought to have shot that man and two other women is a convicted felon who has been caught 11 times. There was no more trouble after an off-duty Atlanta Zone 1 police officer shot the suspect.

Schierbaum said the suspect “should never have had a gun” because he had been to prison for armed robbery.

When the police officer who shot the shooter was praised by the mayor, he said, “Had he not been there, things could have gotten worse.”

A guy aged 47 and two women, one aged 69 and the other 70, were killed. Everyone who was hurt was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The Peachtree Center is made up of office towers and an underground mall. It is only a few blocks away from several hotels that serve Atlanta’s busy convention business.

Crime scene tape blocked off several blocks of Peachtree Street while police and firemen rushed to the scene.

Since the police officer was involved, the Georgia Bureau of Probe is in charge of the probe.
