Months-Long Manhunt ended after Puerto Rican Criminals Caught and Arrested in New York City US Marshals

Police sources told The Post that two of Puerto Rico’s most wanted criminals were found hiding in the Bronx, months after they got into a fight with police and then disappeared.

According to sources, the US Marshals fugitive task team caught Jay Livan Diaz-Del Valle, 25, and Hector Manuel Cruz-Ayala, 27, on Monday and Tuesday.

Police officers from the Puerto Rico Police Department tried to arrest the two on December 12, 2023, for having weapons on them, according to reports. This led to their charges.

Jay Livan Diaz-Del Valle was arrested in the New York City by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Hector Manuel Cruz-Ayala was caught hiding in the Bronx.

Sources say that the two guys shot at the police officers and hurt three of them before running away. Police have issued a warrant for the guys, who are also thought to be involved in a number of murders.

Sources say that on May 10, the Marshals and the Puerto Rican police learned that Del Valle and Ayala might be hiding out in New York City.

After three days, they found Del-Valle in the Bronx at the corner of East Tremont and Marmion streets. Sources say that they caught Ayala the next day in the 2000 block of Vyse Avenue, also in the Bronx.

Both of them will probably be charged with attempted murder of a police officer, having guns, and other crimes.
