Florida (latestsports)- A 23-year-old Florida woman, Megan Lynn Mileskiewicz, is behind bars after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend’s pit bull multiple times in a disturbing attack that occurred on December 29, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Mileskiewicz faces serious charges, including one count of torturing or inflicting pain on an animal and causing serious injury, as well as resisting arrest. Law enforcement officials were alerted to the incident when a 911 call came in at approximately 10:42 a.m. that morning, reporting that a woman was repeatedly stabbing her boyfriend’s dog inside their home in Spring Hill, a community located in Florida’s Nature Coast region.
According to the Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies responded to the residence on Rusk Circle and spoke with multiple witnesses who were present during the incident. The attack is said to have taken place in front of several family members and one family friend.
Witnesses told authorities that Mileskiewicz fled through the back door after the incident. Deputies quickly located her and took her into custody without a prolonged pursuit.
The nature of the injuries inflicted on the pit bull has not been disclosed, but the charges against Mileskiewicz suggest that the attack was severe. She is now facing charges related to animal cruelty, with additional accusations stemming from her alleged resistance during the arrest.
Animal cruelty is a serious offense in Florida, and authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
Mileskiewicz’s arrest has shocked the local community, where the attack allegedly occurred in a quiet neighborhood. She is currently being held at the Hernando County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
As the investigation continues, animal rights activists and the public are left grappling with the disturbing details of the attack.
