Democrats Scold Noem for Shooting Her Dog While Taking Pictures With Other People's Pets

A bunch of Democratic governors made fun of South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) on social media after a part of her future book about killing her family dog got a lot of attention.

In the story, Noem talks about how upset she was with Cricket, a wire-haired pointer who was almost 14 months old, while they were shooting.

In response to the news, Democrats shared pictures of their favorite pets on social media and told other people to do the same.

“Post a picture with your dog that doesn’t involve shooting them and throwing them in a gravel pit,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) wrote on the social network X on Friday, along with a picture of himself feeding his dog. “Let’s begin.”

On the same thread, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer posted a picture of herself hugging her two dogs with the same description as Walz. Then, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy responded to Whitmer’s post with a picture of himself lying on the ground with a dog.

The now-famous story was first told by The Guardian. It will be in Noem’s new book, “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward.” There was talk that Noem could be Trump’s running mate, so she took the dog to a gravel pit on her land and shot it. She wrote that it was “not a pleasant job” but “had to be done.”

In a statement, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) called itself the “Dogmocratic Party” and spoke out against the South Dakota governor for the passage on Friday.

The statement read, “As DNC dogs, we’ve heard a lot from our owners about how extreme and dangerous Donald Trump and his far-right MAGA allies are. But nothing could have prepared us for the truly disturbing and horrifying passages Kristi Noem willingly chose to put in her new book.”
