Accused Killer Was Caught After Being on the Run, and New Information Shows That He Was Still Living in Metro Atlanta

This guy has been in jail for seven years after being charged with killing his wife in front of their two kids.

Jonathan Bates was finally caught on murder charges on Tuesday, just before 4 p.m. He had been on the run for 18 months.

The Bates family has had to wait a long time. In 2017, she died.

They hope that justice will be done now that Bates is in jail.

New information shows that he was still living in metro Atlanta.

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office shared a picture and said that Bates was arrested by their warrant unit and U.S. Marshals. Bates is facing many charges, such as Felony Murder and Cruelty to Children.

It’s been a long and painful wait for Cynde Bates’ family.

Police say that the mother of two was pushed by her husband Jonathan in 2017 and then fell down the stairs in their Dallas home.

After that, she died at the hospital after getting hit in the back of the head.

Jonathan Bates was first charged, but one judge dropped the charges. He was then charged again. Jonathan was supposed to go to court in the fall of 2022 but didn’t show up. He has been on the run ever since.

Cynde’s family talked to Channel 2 Action News many years after the court date he didn’t show up for. They were mad that he was no longer in jail.

Sister Stormie Dement asked, “How can someone get out of jail on a low bond for murder?” “He couldn’t stand that she wanted to leave with the kids.”

Dement said that she might be able to move on once he goes to trial.

According to Dement, she will be able to move on with her life once he is found guilty and sent to jail.
