A Man Was Given Life in Jail for Kidnapping and Killing a Woman in the Nevada Desert

A man from Pennsylvania was given life in jail for taking and killing a woman whose body was found in the Nevada desert.

John Chapman was found guilty of one count of kidnapping with cause of death after a trial in May 2024.

Court records show that in November 2019, a friend asked for Jamie Feden to be checked out for safety. People who live nearby told the cops that they hadn’t seen Feden in about two months, but they had seen Chapman come and go from her house.

They found Feden’s cell phone, several zip ties, and a roll of duct tape inside. The ID cards had Chapman’s name and picture on them.

Federalen was taken to Las Vegas, Nevada, by Chapman. He told her it was a holiday and that they might buy a house there.

Feden’s hands and feet were tied to a signpost, and Chapman said it was for a bondage picture shoot in the desert. He then put duct tape over her mouth and watched as she died of suffocation.

FBI Agent Jason M. Frierson, who works for the District of Nevada, said, “The defendant broke the victim’s trust by luring her away from her family and friends in Pennsylvania and into the Nevada desert, where he brutally killed her.” “This sentence should make it clear to others that if they kidnap and kill someone, they will get a long time in prison.”
