A Woman From Columbia County Was Arrested After Being Accused of Animal Abuse

COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA. They put a woman in jail because they think she is guilty of mistreatment of animals.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, police were called to a home on Bannack Lane for a welfare check. After questioning several people, it was found that Tiffany Cawley had been participating in renting out the property on Airbnb without permission.

During the welfare check, however, police say they saw three dogs crated in Cawley’s bedroom with no food or water, and one dog’s kennel had dried feces in and around it. They also saw two cats and a ferret in kennels in Cawley’s closet, and three more dogs sitting in the closed garage with urine and feces all over them.

According to the police report, Cawley told them that she walks the dogs every two hours, but a neighbor said he had only seen one dog.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Cawley was arrested and taken to the Columbia County Detention Center. Animal control has since picked up the animals.
