Community Honors Norma J. Coonrod’s Legacy of Family and Compassion

Norma J. Coonrod, 59, of Oneida, New York, remembered for love, family devotion, and community service after passing.

Norma J. Coonrod, 59, of Oneida, New York, passed away on July 8, 2026, at Oneida Health Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to her family and community.

Born on January 24, 1967, she was the daughter of Reginald and Diane Jordan. Norma spent much of her life in Oneida, where she became a beloved figure known for her warmth, generosity, and selflessness.

For 13 years, she worked as a dispatcher for Vineall Ambulance, a role that reflected her dedication to helping others and her commitment to serving the community.

Her colleagues admired her reliability and compassion, and her work left a lasting impact on those she served. Beyond her career, Norma’s greatest joy was her family.

She cherished her role as Nanny and took immense pride in her children and grandchildren, always putting their needs above her own.

She loved spending time with her sisters, enjoying laughter-filled sister time, and looked forward to family game nights that brought everyone together.

Friends and loved ones remember her as a caring, selfless woman who always put others first, embodying the values of kindness and devotion in every aspect of her life.

Norma is survived by her children: Adam Coonrod of Oneida, Brandy Coonrod of Vernon, Patricia Coonrod of Whitesboro, Tiffany Coonrod of Rome, and Barbra Miller of Cicero.

She leaves behind grandchildren Savannah, Alexys, Bryce, Makyah, Bentley, Cody Jr., Gabriel, Leighvy, and Gavin, who will carry forward her memory and the lessons of love she instilled in them.

Norma is also survived by her siblings David Partridge of Taberg, Lisa Rhinehardt of Waterloo, Michelle Jordan of Sherrill, Regina Jordan of Chittenango, and Nicole Jordan of Oneida.

She was predeceased by her mother Diane Jordan in May 2026, as well as siblings Donald Partridge Jr., Kathleen Dunning, Tracy Ann Jordan, and her close friend Sherry Ford Snyder.

Her passing has left a deep void in her family and community, but her legacy lives on in the love she shared and the lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Oneida American Legion, 398 N. Main Street, Oneida.

This gathering will provide family, friends, and community members the opportunity to honor Norma’s memory, share stories, and reflect on the impact she had on their lives.

Arrangements are being handled by Ironside Family Funeral Homes, Inc., 342 Main Street, Oneida. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in Norma’s honor, a cause that reflects her caring nature and commitment to helping others.

Norma J. Coonrod’s life was defined by love, service, and family. She will be remembered not only for her professional dedication but also for her unwavering devotion to her children, grandchildren, and siblings.

Her warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire acts of kindness and compassion.

As her family and community gather to celebrate her life, they will carry forward her legacy, ensuring that her spirit lives on in the bonds she nurtured and the love she gave so freely.

Norma’s passing is a reminder of the profound impact one person can have on the lives of many, and her story will remain a testament to the power of family, service, and love.
