People got a copy of the complaint, which says that Jorge Guillen and Lizette Zambrano chose to use the hot tub at the Sonoran Sea Resort in Puerto Peñasco as “dusk began to set” on June 11.
For some reason, Jorge was hit by an electric current as soon as he got into the water, and the report says he “keeled over.”
“I jumped forward from the pool deck to try to grab Jorge’s body from the jacuzzi after seeing her husband fall down.” But when Lizette touched Jorge and the water, she too was shocked by electricity.

The complaint said that resort workers did not use “the emergency shutoff for the jacuzzi” or try to save “either Jorge or Lizette” for 10 minutes.
In a statement to the Associated Press, lawyer Tej Paranjpe said, “It’s absolutely terrifying.” He also said that “not a single staff member did anything” while Jorge was being shocked over and over again underwater.
It was also said in the case that the hot tub’s electrical wiring was “faulty,” which the resort should have known.
“This shouldn’t have happened for any reason.” “Hotels and resorts should make sure their guests are safe,” lawyer Tej Paranjpe said in a news release about the case. “The resort staff never thought to use an emergency shut-off or warn guests about a broken, dangerous feature.”
The lawsuit said, “Plaintiff suffered and sustained bodily injuries resulting from the incident because the Defendants operated its Premise in an unsafe manner.” “The plaintiff was hurt and had to pay damages for things like past and future medical bills, pain and suffering, and mental anguish.”
The lawsuit said that Guillen was a “dedicated, affectionate, loving, compassionate, energetic, cooperative, patient, and attentive father.” It also said that through his death, Lizette has lost the love and company of her husband and the right to that love, solace, comfort, companionship, and help.
Zambrano wants more than $1 million in damages, court costs, fines, and fees.
A Facebook post from the General Prosecutor’s Office of Justice of the State of Sonora says the crime happened at about 8:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, June 11, at a private condo complex.
