Amber Alert Issued for Missing Teen Mother Escarleth Vasquez and Her Infant Son

Amber Alert issued for 15‑year‑old Escarleth Vasquez and her infant son, Alejandro, missing from Converse, Texas, since May 9, 2026.

Converse, Texas — Authorities and community members are searching for 15‑year‑old Escarleth Vasquez and her 1‑year‑old son, Alejandro, who have been missing since May 9, 2026.

The Texas Department of Public Safety issued an Amber Alert in June after weeks of concern from family and local residents. The alert describes Escarleth as five feet to five feet four inches tall, weighing between 130 and 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black hoodie and gray pants. Alejandro is described as two feet ten inches tall, weighing about 27 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen dressed in all black clothing.

According to investigators, Escarleth and Alejandro were last seen leaving their home in the 7000 block of Phoenix Path in Converse around 1:00 p.m. on May 9. They did not return, and family members reported them missing.

Authorities believe they may be traveling in a red pickup truck, though no license plate or model has been confirmed. The lack of vehicle details has made the search more difficult, but law enforcement continues to urge the public to remain alert.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Escarleth is Alejandro’s mother and emphasized the urgency of locating both. The department has asked anyone with information to contact the Missing Persons Unit or call 911 immediately if they spot the pair.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has also provided a hotline for tips related to the Amber Alert.

Community members have taken to social media to share Escarleth’s photo and spread awareness. Posts from friends and relatives describe her as a devoted young mother and a caring presence in her neighborhood.

Many have expressed frustration over the delay in issuing the Amber Alert, which came more than a month after the disappearance. Advocates argue that earlier alerts could have increased the chances of locating Escarleth and Alejandro quickly.

The case has drawn attention to the challenges faced by young mothers and the vulnerabilities of children in such circumstances. Escarleth’s age, combined with the responsibility of caring for a toddler, has heightened concern among those following the case.

Local organizations have joined the effort to keep her story visible, encouraging residents to share information and remain vigilant.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate leads and monitor reports from the public. While no confirmed sightings have been reported, authorities stress that community involvement is critical.

The Amber Alert system relies on widespread awareness, and every shared post or phone call could provide the breakthrough needed to bring Escarleth and Alejandro home safely.

As the search continues, the family remains hopeful that Escarleth and Alejandro will be found. They have asked for privacy while also encouraging the public to assist by spreading the alert and contacting authorities with any information.

The case serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and the role of public awareness in missing persons investigations.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911, contact the Texas Department of Public Safety at 210-531-2284, or reach out to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit at 210-335-6000.
