His sudden death has left family, friends, and colleagues grieving the loss of a young man remembered for his devotion to family, his academic achievements, his passion for sports, and his adventurous spirit.
Born on June 27, 1997, Austin was the beloved son of Carrie Kellogg and Paul Colligan. He grew up surrounded by love and support from his siblings Anna Martiny, Ben Dawson, Samantha Platte, Christina Kaspar, and Nolan.
He was cherished by his grandparents Bob and Sharon Napier and was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Paul and Rosie Lola Colligan. Austin also held close bonds with his many nieces and nephews, who will remember him for his humor, loyalty, and warmth.
Austin graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management. He was a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, following in his father’s footsteps.
His academic journey continued at Wayne State University, where he was enrolled in a master’s program in Automotive Supply Chain Management. Professionally, Austin worked at Penske, a role that allowed him to travel extensively across the United States and Mexico.
His career reflected both his dedication to logistics and his love of exploration, combining professional achievement with personal adventure.
Sports were a central part of Austin’s life. He was a devoted fan of Manchester United F.C., the Boston Celtics, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, the WMU Broncos, and the University of Michigan teams.
His passion for soccer was unmatched—he often woke at odd hours to cheer for his team, sharing his enthusiasm with those around him. Beyond sports, Austin enjoyed country music and was known for his discipline in fitness, often waking at 4:00 a.m. to train at the gym.
His adventurous spirit was evident from a young age, beginning with a formative trip to Boston at age 12, which sparked his lifelong love of travel.
Austin’s family and friends remember him for his dry sense of humor, which could brighten even the toughest days. He was deeply patriotic, proud of his country, and unwavering in his devotion to the United States.
His loyalty, discipline, and adventurous nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His family emphasized that Austin loved them as much as they loved him, a testament to the strong bonds he nurtured throughout his life.
His ability to balance humor with discipline made him a unique presence, someone who could inspire others while also bringing joy into everyday moments.
Funeral arrangements have been set to honor Austin’s memory. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DeWitt Futbol Club, 3824 Glade Way, Lansing, MI 48906, reflecting Austin’s lifelong passion for soccer and community involvement.
