According to Maryland State Police, three persons were killed in a fiery crash when a car fled a traffic stop on I-695 in Baltimore County Saturday night.
Around 11:05 p.m., a trooper stopped a Jeep near Greenspring Avenue on I-695 before the driver fled, according to state police. The trooper, who did not pursue and had deactivated his emergency lights, saw the truck completely engulfed in flames down the I-83 ramp.
Troopers suspect the Jeep lost control and collided with an embankment and a tree before catching fire as it exited the ramp. The driver of the vehicle and two passengers were declared deceased.

On March 14, a Baltimore County woman was arrested after colliding with a Maryland State trooper on I-695 between Charles Road and York Road while suspected of driving under the influence, according to police.
An investigation indicated that the trooper had just conducted a traffic check and was inside a marked police car when a Honda cut across two lanes and collided with the police vehicle, which had emergency lights turned on.
The trooper was transferred to a shock trauma center and later released, according to authorities.
The suspected driver has been identified as Harriet Penniman Van Kleeck, 63, of Towson. She was accused of impaired driving and traffic offenses.
A vehicle crashes into a Baltimore County flat.
On April 4, a vehicle drove into a Baltimore County apartment complex, displacing four individuals, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.
The accident occurred in the 2000 block of Paulette Road in Dundalk.
The motorist had minor injuries in the incident but declined treatment or transportation to a local hospital. There were no further injuries reported in the incident.
