A food cart vendor in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan, was brutally attacked by a mugger on Tuesday night. The attacker struck the 33-year-old vendor in the face with what appeared to be a metal object, possibly a pipe. This violent assault took place around 10:50 PM at the corner of W. 49th St. and Eighth Ave., while the vendor was working at his cart.
The mugger didn’t stop after the initial blow. He continued to hit the vendor in the face multiple times before taking off with $3,500 in cash that the victim had on him. The vendor lost several teeth during the attack, and he was left bleeding and in pain.
Emergency medical services quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the vendor to Bellevue Hospital. Fortunately, he was in stable condition after being treated. The police have been investigating the crime and are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby cameras to identify the attacker.
The mugger is described as a man in his 30s, wearing a white-and-blue jacket and light-colored jeans. After committing the crime, he ran off into the night and has not yet been caught. Authorities are continuing their search for him.
