A 45-year-old man was apprehended Friday afternoon in connection with an incident where he allegedly assaulted two 12-year-old boys on a Brooklyn street last week.
The altercation occurred at approximately 5:43 p.m. on April 18, outside 481 Kings Highway in Gravesend, near the intersection of McDonald Avenue, when a stranger reportedly approached the boys and delivered punches to their faces.
Although the children sustained minor injuries, emergency medical services swiftly transported them to Maimonides Medical Center for treatment of their abrasions.
Willie Guzman, a resident of Bath Beach, stands accused of perpetrating the assault before fleeing the scene on foot. He was formally charged on Friday with two counts of third-degree assault.
Authorities had disseminated photographs of Guzman to aid their investigation less than 24 hours prior to his apprehension.
