2 found Dead in a Human-dug Cave in Los Angeles with White Powder all over the body: Deputies Say

Los Angeles, CA: Officials say they found two dead men and a strange white powder in a “human-dug cave” near a Los Angeles homeless camp on May 5.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said that they found two dead men inside a “human-dug cave/excavation” in a slope near the 8700 block of Lindley Avenue in the Northridge neighborhood.

After seeing a “white powder substance” inside the cave, the LAFD sent a Hazardous Materials team and an Urban Search and Rescue team to help find the bodies.

All of the results were fine when the hazmat team got there and checked the area out. The LAFD said “wind dissipated the small amounts of powder initially observed.”

It didn’t hurt anyone, and no one had to leave. LAFD said there was no danger away from the scene. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner got the bodies back.

Tony Im, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, told the Los Angeles Times that the deaths of the men were not thought to have been caused by murder.
