State Police Report That a Woman From Alabama Was Killed in a Collision That Occurred on Interstate 10 in St. Tammany Parish

SLIDELL, La. — According to the Louisiana State Police Troop L, a woman has been pronounced deceased following an accident that occurred on Interstate 10 in St. Tammany Parish.

Brittany Rawson, 37 years old, was a resident of Elberta, Alabama, and she was killed in an accident that took place at approximately one o’clock on Friday morning, according to the state police.

According to the state police, Rawson was a passenger in a 2014 BMW X1 that was being driven by Andre Fontana, who was 42 years old, when the BMW that was being driven collided with the rear of a Freightliner tractor-trailer on Interstate 10.

When Rawson was involved in the accident, she was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the state police. She was transported to a nearby hospital, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

In addition, Fontana was not wearing a seatbelt, which resulted in him suffering severe injuries. He was sent to a medical facility.

There were no injuries sustained by the driver of the trailer because he was wearing his seatbelt.
