HOLMES COUNTY, Florida — There was a deadly car accident that occurred in Holmes County on Friday morning, and the Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene.
According to officials from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place on Highway 79 not far from Bonifay at approximately six in the morning.
According to the troopers, a 26-year-old guy from Bonifay was driving his pickup truck in the southbound direction on Highway 79, while a biker was headed in the northbound direction. It was the front of the motorcycle that was involved in the collision with the pickup truck that had strayed into the northbound lane. Officials from the Florida Highway Patrol reported that as a consequence of this, the motorcycle was wedged against the front of the truck.
According to a press release, a woman on a motorcycle who was 45 years old and from Hartford, Alabama was thrown from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.
In addition to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office and the Bonifay Police Department, the Holmes County Emergency Medical Services provided assistance to the Florida Highway Patrol at the incident.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into this occurrence.
