Florida police say a 26-year-old woman smashed a bottle over another woman’s head and stabbed her because she was “extremely upset” about “what kind of bed sheets and blankets” the victim had set up for her in her room.
The police arrested Anaya Durandisse Williams on Sunday and charged her with attempted second-degree murder and aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon with one count each.
A probable cause affidavit says that around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, officers from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in the 800 block of Morrison Avenue in Fort Meade, which is about 60 miles southeast of Tampa, where a fight was still going on.
First rescuers talked to the victim when they got to the house. The victim told them that Williams, who lived there, “became extremely upset with [the victim] about what kind of bed sheets and blankets [the victim] set up for her in her room.”
It was said that Williams was quick to get physical when she got angry.
“As [the victim] walked out of [Williams’] bedroom, [Williams] grabbed [the victim’s] hair and hit her in the front and back of her head with her hand,” the statement says. ” Williams then went into her bedroom, got an empty olive oil glass bottle, and hit the victim in the head with it. The bottle broke. Williams pulled on the victim’s hair over and over, and some of the braids were totally pulled out. Williams grabbed and fought with the victim, then kicked and bit the victim in the leg. “The victim bit Williams on the finger to get her to stop hitting her.”
This person was able to get away from Williams and start calling 911. It is said that Williams then went into the kitchen and got a big knife. As allegedly shown by surveillance video from inside the home, Williams “lunges” at the victim with the knife and stabs her in the “back/side area,” according to the papers.
The police caught Williams with the knife in the bathroom and put her in jail. Williams is said to have told police that she hit the victim in the head with a bottle and then “grabbed her by the neck and hair and bit her on the leg.”
“[Williams] said she then hit [the victim] with the knife as [the victim] was turning away and on the phone with the cops,” police said. “[Williams] said she was in the heat of the moment.”
Police said the victim had obvious wounds, such as a left eye that was swollen and “a small laceration on her back/side area.”
She also told the police that Williams’ acts “were against her will” and that she was “scared” when she saw Williams with the knife.
Williams will be in court on August 4 for a hearing about his pretrial arrest. The date of her hearing is September 2.
