Williamson County Woman Arrested in Herrin Drug Bust Following Traffic Stop

ILLINOIS – A Williamson County woman was arrested early Tuesday after deputies discovered methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Herrin, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Discovery

The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on October 8 when deputies observed a vehicle traveling north on 23rd Street committing a traffic violation. The vehicle was stopped, and a K9 unit from the Herrin Police Department conducted a free air sniff.

The K9, named Tyr, alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics, prompting deputies to search the vehicle. During the search, a purse on the passenger-side floorboard was found to contain methamphetamine.

Arrest of Crystal Pulliam

The passenger, Crystal R. Pulliam, was taken into custody without incident. The driver, Bryan A. Pulliam, was cited for failure to signal and operating an uninsured vehicle, and was released at the scene.

At the Williamson County Jail, Crystal Pulliam admitted the methamphetamine was hers and revealed that she had another bag concealed in her clothing. A female correctional officer recovered the additional narcotics during intake.

Charges and Detention

Crystal Pulliam has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Class 2 felony, and remanded to the Williamson County Jail pending further proceedings.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the assistance of the Herrin Police Department and State’s Attorney Ted Hampson in the arrest and investigation.
