West Virginia Officials Say $40 Million Will Be Spent on Water and Sewer Work

IN WEST VIRGINIA—
West Virginia’s government has shared a list of $40 million worth of sewer and water projects. Several of them are in the viewing area of Eyewitness News.

Early this month, the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council made the following public:

A new telemetry system will cost $400,000, which will be split between funds and loans for the Logan County PSD.

MINGO COUNTY: A grant of $500,000 will be used to improve the Chattaroy sewer system. Five nine hundred thousand dollars more will be given to the project by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, and other groups.

WAYNE COUNTY – The city of Kenova will improve its water system with the help of a $2.6 million loan and $165,000 in grants. $8.6 million will be added from the U.S. Economic Development Authority, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Wayne County Commission, and other sources.

More projects that will try to get money have been given the go-ahead by the WVIJDC:

It will cost about $2.4 million to improve the water system at Flatwoods Canoe Run PSD.
This project will cost $14.5 million to improve Buffalo Creek’s Greenville and Landville branches and wastewater treatment plants.
