EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA —

Gerius Hargett, 20, and Nevaeh Hackney, 19, met with a judge for the first time this morning, August 1.

Domonique Brown, 36, was killed, and both of them are charged with murder. They didn’t get any bond.

Police say a 17-year-old is also being held at the Pitt Regional Juvenile Center on charges of helping to kill someone.

On June 24, 2024, Brown’s body was discovered in the grass at the end of Liberty Street.

That’s close to the Trent Court neighborhood.

The police say they caught Hargett and Hackney during a normal stop.

The next time they have to go to court is August 15.
