MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Twenty people were arrested by the Arkansas State Police in Lee County after a nine-hour raid that found stolen guns and drugs.
The work was done from 5 p.m. on Friday, May 24 until 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 25. During that time, the Arkansas State Police did a saturation operation in Lee County. Five guns, methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, and illegal marijuana were among the illegal things that were seized.
Three of the five guns that were taken away were reported stolen.
ASP gave out 156 tickets for different crimes during the operation. Eight people were arrested for driving while drunk, and two people were also nabbed for felony crimes.
More tickets were given out, this time for 13 drivers going too fast, 22 drivers not wearing seatbelts, and 10 drivers not using kid restraints.
ASP says that during the raid, they made a total of 278 contacts.
Chief of Troop D, ASP Captain Philip Hydron, said, “The response from the community was the most important success of the operation.” “They truly appreciated our presence and the direct approach of law enforcement in dealing with criminal activities.”
