MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI – Three Texas men have been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking operation in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, after a month-long investigation led to the seizure of 20 pounds of cocaine. The men, Arturo Vara, Juan Villarreal, and Herbert Harrison, were apprehended last Wednesday following a coordinated effort by local authorities.
The Drug Trafficking Investigation
The multi-agency investigation began when the Manitowoc Police Department identified that the three suspects were allegedly transporting cocaine from Texas to Manitowoc County for distribution. The authorities quickly confirmed the men’s involvement in a drug trafficking operation, which included the shipment of eight kilograms of cocaine.
According to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation culminated in last week’s arrest operation, after it was confirmed that the suspects had arrived in the county with the cocaine and had delivered the shipment.
Seizure of Drugs and Weapons
During the operation, authorities seized 20 pounds of cocaine, along with methamphetamine and a stolen firearm. The recovered drugs were destined for distribution in the area, making this operation a significant blow to the local drug trade.
Charges and Bail Information
Following their arrests, the three men were charged with various drug-related offenses, including manufacture and delivery of cocaine as repeat offenders. Herbert Harrison is also facing an additional charge for possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
The court set high cash bonds for the suspects during their bail hearings last Thursday:
- $750,000 for Juan Villarreal and Herbert Harrison
- $500,000 for Arturo Vara
The suspects are currently being held at the Manitowoc County Jail as they await further legal proceedings.
