This Weekend, Txdot Wants Drivers To Plan Ahead And Be Patient As They Travel For The Eclipse

The county of Bandera in Texas People who are moving before Monday’s eclipse should be careful and ready, says the Texas Department of Transportation.

TxDOT wants drivers to be patient and plan ahead. South Central Texas is expecting a lot of people to pass through, which means that traffic will get worse until Tuesday.

Users can plan their trips and get real-time traffic reports on DriveTexas.org. The charge map from the U.S. Department of Energy can help people who own electric cars find places to plug them in.

Ronny Brown said that his charger for electric cars is the only one in the western part of Bandera County for miles.

Brown said, “At least we’re ready for it.” “We only have one, but it’s better than nothing in case someone needs it.”

Brown is the owner of Vanderpool’s Lost Maples Country Store. The only gas station in town is right next to his only charger for electric cars. He said it’s possible that he might run out of gas, so people who are passing through his town should be ready.

Brown said, “I’m getting ready for something in between the worst and best.”

This weekend, there are more than just local cars on the roads. Sara Maswadi, owner of Palata Auto Car Rentals, said that all of his cars had been reserved for weeks before the eclipse. He said that most of his clients are from other states.

Maswadi said, “We were ready for a lot of calls.” “We’re full right now.” Okay, that’s one thing. So we don’t have any, even if they call.”

The same patterns can be seen at other rental companies in San Antonio. A lot of well-known rental companies don’t have much, if any, stock until next week.
