It makes sense for someone to want to steal dog food, but in this case in Illinois, the thieves got enough to open their own pet store.
A lot of stolen dog food was taken in Illinois.
I’ve always had a pet. I don’t remember a long time when I didn’t have an animal in my life. That means fish, dogs, cats, and a lot of other animals. Having a pet is great, but taking care of them costs a lot of money. Food, treats, tools, vet bills, and other costs add up.
Pet owners who are having a hard time paying for their animals’ care have to make tough choices. It’s sad to hear that some people will give their furry friends to a charity. One way is to steal what they need and break the law.
A lot of dog food and treats were stolen not long ago in Illinois. Two semi-trailers were taken from a Gurnee store that was going out of business. Lots of things for pets worth over $600,000 were stolen from the two trucks. They can open their own store with that much money.
According to WGN…
Over $600,000 of stolen dog food and treats were found at a Gurnee liquidation store, according to police.
Joliet police responded on June 30 to a facility in the 4100 block of Rock Creek Boulevard on the report of two stolen semi-trailers.
Police learned both trailers were loaded with approximately $615,000 worth of dog food and treats.
Luckily, the local police were able to track down the stolen merchandise. Plus, they also recovered over $135,000 of other stolen goods. Congrats to the police for a job well done.
