They Are at It Again, Say Police in Washington State

On Monday, the state Department of Transportation said on social media that a new scam is targeting people in the area.

The scam was sent via text message and email, and the people who got it are being asked to pay an unpaid amount related to the Good to Go! program. This is a pass that people who regularly cross the Tacoma Narrows bridge use.

“Washington mygoodtogo tolls services, our records show that your vehicle has an unpaid toll invoice,” the fake message said. To escape being charged an extra $66.70, please pay off your $6.67 balance. The message then tells people to visit mygoodtogotoll.com, a fake website.

Officials from WSDOT tell people not to click on links they don’t know in emails or texts.

The WSDOT message says, “Good to Go! will not ask for payment on any website but www.mygoodtogo.com.” Also, they let people know that they won’t ask for a driver’s license number.

People from WSDOT also answered some questions on social media.
