Quincy Allen has been given a new sentence of life in jail without the possibility of parole. Allen is a serial killer who said he went on a killing spree because he couldn’t wait for his first job as a mafia hitman.
Allen, who is 44 years old, was given the death penalty in 2002 for killing Dale Hall and Jedediah Harr in South Carolina. But in 2022, the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the sentence because Allen had a mental illness and had been abused as a kid.
When Allen admitted to killing the people, he said he did it because another prisoner offered him a job as a mafia hitman. He was already in North Carolina on a life term for killing two other people.
The prosecutors talked to the families of the victims and chose not to seek the death penalty again. Instead, they agreed to a life sentence. Allen then agreed to give up all of his rights to appeal.
