The Haralson County Sheriff’s Office says that three people were arrested after multiple law enforcement agencies worked together. They are being charged with commercial burglary of a moving car.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office told HCSO on Wednesday that there had been a business burglary in their area and that a Penske truck thought to be involved was near a Bremen Walmart store.
Police from the HCSO went to the scene and found the truck. They tried to stop the truck for speeding, but the driver got out and ran, leaving the truck in gear.
Officials say the truck kept going through the parking lot and stopped when it hit a guard rail.
The suspects inside the truck were recognized as Kohlton Sheets and Krista Bradberry. They got out of the truck when it stopped and tried to run, but were caught. The driver of the truck, Douglas Boatright, was caught after a short run with police.
HCSO officers used a search warrant to find things from Randolph County, Alabama, in the truck on Thursday. They also found masks, tools, and a small amount of methamphetamine.
The Penske truck, which was worth $190,000, was also stolen from a shop in Temple, GA, on June 11.
Boatright, 52, from Tallapoosa, GA is charged with reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude, obstructing a police officer, bringing stolen goods into the state, receiving stolen goods, having the tools to commit a crime, and having methamphetamine on hand.
Boatright is also charged with breaking the terms of his probation.
Sheets, who is 26 years old and from Tallapoosa, GA, is now being charged with delaying police, bringing stolen goods into the state, getting stolen goods, having the tools to commit a crime, having methamphetamine on his person, and violating his probation.
Bradberry, 34, of Tallapoosa, GA is now being charged with four crimes: obstructing a police officer, bringing stolen goods into the state, getting stolen goods, having the tools to commit a crime, and having methamphetamine on hand.
