More information is coming out about what happened between two firemen from Georgia in the days before they disappeared. They were later found dead next to each other in Tennessee, about 400 miles from home.
Kuhbander and Anderson, both 24, were last seen together in Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus after a fight at an Olive Garden the weekend before. They were found dead in Cosby, Tenn., on Sunday after a week-long search.
Kuhbander and Anderson were both firemen in Georgia. Kuhbander’s mother Jane told WJCL that the two had been dating since high school and had been together for seven years.
But, Kuhbander’s mother told the outlet, the couple had just broken up.
People got a copy of Anderson’s arrest record, which says that she confronted Kuhbander while he was on a date with another woman at a nearby Olive Garden and then smashed his car after she said he had said hurtful things to her.
Pooler police officers found Anderson at a nearby Walmart. She had left the scene of the crime when Kuhbander called the police, but they were able to catch her. Anderson told the officer that she was on her way to a nearby pizza place when she saw Kuhbander’s car in the Olive Garden parking lot. This made her approach both him and his date inside the restaurant. Anderson went to the cops and said she was “very hurt by him moving on” from her.
A police officer wrote, “She said they had been together for a long time and she was hurt.”
Anderson was charged with damaging property and acting in a shaky way. According to Kuhbander’s mother, she posted bail and kept calling him and making threats after she got out of jail.
“He was telling me she was blowing up his phone, and he said that she had threatened that she was going to commit suicide,” her mom said. “And, it’s not the first time that she’s done it.”
Security video from Monday, June 24, shows Kuhbander getting into Anderson’s car. That was the last time they were seen together.
This was Kuhbander’s mother’s second plea for help on social media during the week-long search. She said that her son may have been “coerced” by Anderson and that “he is believed to not be with her willingly.”
Kuhbander’s mother made it clear in a Facebook post that she thinks “Raegan is not a bad person.”
In a post on June 27, the mother said, “She is a great firefighter.” “She’s lost, unstable, and giving up everything she has known for seven years.” They did not get along with each other. This is making her make bad choices. Even though they’re not together, he cares about her. We want them both to get home safely and without any problems.
People has been told by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation that its agents are looking into what happened that night that killed Kuhbander and Anderson.
“The bodies have been sent for an autopsy to find out how and why they died and to be positively identified,” a bureau spokesperson told PEOPLE. “At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing.”
Someone has set up a GoFundMe page to help Kuhbander’s family. They say Chandler was “sadly and unexpectedly taken” from them.
