Texas Police Capture Interpol-Wanted Fugitive for Murder, Illegal Immigrant in US

On May 25, Texas police caught a murder suspect wanted by officials around the world.

Leo Acosta Sanchez, 21, was caught by Splendora police working with federal officials. He had been living in the “state and country” illegally, the Splendora Police Department said in a press release.

Sanchez “was known to travel between” Splendora and “her residence in Terrenos,” which is a neighborhood outside of Houston that advertises cheap land for sale.

Fox News Digital was told by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that Sanchez is from Mexico.

“Acosta entered the United States as a nonimmigrant on Aug. 20, 2023, and violated the terms of her admission,” ICE stated. “She remains in ICE custody pending disposition of her immigration proceedings.”

Sanchez was caught by “vigilant” police officers during a “routine patrol.” They “saw the wanted person behind the wheel of a car and immediately called for backup.”

Splendora PD said in a press release, “After more units arrived, a traffic stop was conducted, which led to the immediate arrest of the driver, identified as Leo Acosta Sanchez.”

Sanchez was caught with the help of local cops and the Department of Homeland Security. She is being charged with crimes she is said to have done outside of the United States.
