Tesla Cameras Catch Suspect During Home Robbery in Woodland Hills

Two burglars who allegedly broke into a Woodland Hills home and took thousands of dollars’ worth of goods were being sought by the LAPD on Sunday.

The homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous, claims that at approximately 7 p.m., the burglary suspects broke in through a sliding glass door while they were out. His dog was home at the time, he continued, but their alarms did not sound during the break-in.

According to local neighbor Larry Andrade, he saw two men carrying the homeowner’s safe out of the house. The homeowner was subsequently alerted to the unusual activity by the neighbor via phone.

A decent samaritan recorded a portion of the break-in from his Tesla car. Before the burglars smashed another car around half a mile from the house, the driver continued to follow the dark-colored, license plateless Mercedes.

“He made a U-turn and apparently tried to maybe go after the Tesla, but he actually hit a white Prius,” Andrade added.

According to the LAPD, the driver and passenger fled once they were unable to operate the vehicle any longer.

To determine whether any of the stolen goods could be recovered, investigators examined the vehicle and trunk.

With roughly $50,000 worth of goods and cash inside, the homeowner expresses their optimism that their safe will be found in the vehicle.

In addition, police are investigating whether the Mercedes was a part of any other recent break-ins in this neighborhood.
