WHNS/Gray News: Greenville, South Carolina At a fun park in South Carolina, a sad tragedy claimed the life of a 17-year-old employee.
The collision occurred at Frankie’s Fun Park in Greenville on Friday, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
An amusement park with go-karts, arcades, and other family-friendly attractions is called Frankie’s Fun Park.
The sheriff’s office reports that at 11:43 a.m., dispatchers received a 911 call regarding a collision at the park involving a go-kart and a forklift.
The victim was identified as 17-year-old Kamel Seveion Sewell by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
According to investigators, Sewell was operating the go-kart when it struck an industrial forklift that a park employee was also operating.
Regarding the death, Frankie’s Fun Park issued the following statement:
Frankie’s Fun Park of Greenville is sorry to inform you that 17-year-old Seveion Sewell passed away in a sad accident on Friday, December 27. Seveion spent more than a year working at Frankie’s.
Currently, OSHA and law enforcement are receiving information and support from Frankie’s. More details will be provided as appropriate after the accident’s circumstances and causes have been established.
