Dublin, CA – Authorities arrested a suspected drug trafficker and recovered 3 kilograms of cocaine along with three firearms, federal and local officials reported. The arrest follows a coordinated investigation by the Alameda County Narcotics Task Force and the DEA.

Details of the Arrest and Search

The suspect, Dominic J. Smith, 49, also known by the alias Khan Ahmed Aziz Hassan, was taken into custody on September 11. A federal search warrant was served at a residence on Markleeville Road in Dublin on behalf of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.

During the search, authorities recovered:

  • 3 kilograms of cocaine and evidence consistent with cocaine base manufacturing
  • Two assault rifles and one handgun
  • Packaging materials and scales
  • Nearly $16,000 in cash

A woman and a small child were present at the residence during the warrant execution. The woman is reportedly on active federal probation.

Charges Filed Against Smith

On September 12, authorities filed multiple drug- and firearms-related charges against Smith, including:

  • Possession of cocaine base for sale
  • Possession of a controlled substance for sale
  • Possession of an assault weapon
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Transportation of a controlled substance

Smith has a criminal history including a prior conviction for possession of cocaine base for sale, along with several drug- and firearm-related arrests.

Booking and Current Status

Smith was booked at the Alameda County Santa Rita Jail following his arrest. However, he is no longer listed in the online inmate roster. Authorities continue to review the investigation and secure additional evidence from the residence.
