South Carolina Police Say an SUV and Car Crash Killed One Person and Hurt Three Others

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says that an SUV and a car crashed on Saturday, killing one person and hurting three more.

The accident took place in Laurens County around 5:40 p.m., according to Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover.

Glover says that both a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer and a 2015 Chrysler 300 were going south on I-385. Glover said that the Chrysler hit the Chevy at the 13-mile mark on I-385, which sent the SUV off the right side of the road and into a guardrail.

Glover says the driver of the Chevy died at the scene.

The Laurens County Coroner’s Office has not made the driver of the Chevy public.

Glover said that the Chrysler had three people inside. All three were hurt and were taken to a hospital nearby. It was not possible to get more information about their situations.

There were no other injuries recorded.

No one who was in the accident was said to be wearing a seat belt.

There was no information known about what caused the two cars to crash, but the Highway Patrol is still looking into it.
