Irvine, CA – 23-year-old Damian Bravo has been arrested after Walmart security guards allegedly caught him recording an upskirt video of a woman. Investigators later found hundreds of similar videos on his phone, prompting concerns that there may be other unidentified victims.
Investigation Uncovers Hundreds of Disturbing Videos
According to the Irvine Police Department, Bravo’s phone contained hundreds of clips from different locations, including Walmart and Target, dating back at least two years. After Bravo was arrested, he was booked on suspicion of invasion of privacy and released after posting bail.
Target Locations and Pattern of Behavior
Officer Kyle Oldoerp stated that Bravo had frequented Walmart and Target, with the latest incident allegedly occurring last week at a Walmart on Von Karman Avenue. The videos appear to have been recorded for personal gratification, and there is concern that Bravo may have been trading or posting these videos online.
“In these cases, we see they’re being used for personal gratification in some cases… trading them or posting them online,” said Officer Oldoerp.
One Victim Identified, Police Seek More Information
To date, police have identified just one victim, but they are urging anyone who may have been targeted by Bravo to come forward. Investigators are especially concerned that there could be other victims unaware of the recordings.
“There’s a significant amount of victims on this man’s phone,” Officer Oldoerp continued. “We want to talk to those people… If anybody recognizes this guy or thinks they’ve been a victim of him, we want them to come forward.”
