Pro Golfer Grayson Murray Found Dead in Palm Beach Gardens Home in Apparent Suicide

Last weekend, PGA Tour golfer Grayson Murray went back to his home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he later killed himself, according to cops in Palm Beach Gardens.

Police say that Murray’s body was found inside a home in Palm Beach Gardens on Saturday around 11 a.m. They are still looking into what happened.

Murray was 30 years old.

The statement said that the first investigation “does not reveal signs of foul play” and that the public does not seem to be in any danger. The police also said that they would not give out any more information while the probe is going on.

Two-time PGA Tour winner Murray had moved to the area with Christiana Ritchie, the woman he was going to marry. He passed away the next day after pulling out of the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Murray family told the PGA Tour on Sunday (X) that the player killed himself early Saturday morning.

Eric and Terry Murray said, “We’d like to thank the PGA Tour and the whole world of golf for all the support.” “Life wasn’t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now.”

He was a member of the Jupiter, Florida Dye Preserve Golf Club. He was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Before going pro, he played golf at Wake Forest, East Carolina, and Arizona State.

When Murray was having problems with drinking and mental health in 2021, he complained to the PGA Tour on social media that they hadn’t helped him enough.

That’s what Kurt Thompson, general manager of Dye Preserve, told The Palm Beach Post, which is part of the USA TODAY Network: “Grayson was very honest about his problems in the past and his desire to start over.” He looked so happy and excited about the way he was going.

Thompson said in his statement, “As we do with all potential members, we sat down with him to talk about who we are as a club and the culture that exists at The Dye.” Grayson made it a point to learn the names of our staff and would often play with members and staff. People are telling true stories about how kind and generous he was every time he was at the Club.
