Pregnant Woman and Husband Killed in Crumlin Crash One Day After Wedding Anniversary

Crumlin, Dublin – A pregnant woman and her husband have both died following a serious car crash in Crumlin, a suburb of Dublin, just one day after the couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary. Authorities confirmed the fatal collision occurred on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 11, and remains under investigation.

Fatal Collision on Moira Road

Police said the crash happened shortly after 2:00 p.m. local time on Moira Road near Nutts Corner. The couple’s vehicle was involved in a collision with another car, resulting in multiple injuries.

According to reporting by BBC, Cathrene Kith Quiñones Singco, a Filipino health worker in her 30s, was seated in the back of the car at the time of the crash. She was taken to hospital, where she and her unborn baby died the following day, Monday, Jan. 12. Her husband, Ralph Singco, also in his 30s, died in hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Six other individuals involved in the collision sustained minor injuries, police said.

Anniversary Celebration Just One Day Earlier

The tragedy occurred just one day after Cathrene and Ralph marked their sixth wedding anniversary. On Jan. 10, Cathrene shared a post on Facebook celebrating the milestone, resharing images and videos from a previous trip to Switzerland.

One of the videos shows the couple dancing together in the snow.
“From traveling as two to traveling as three puhon,” Cathrene wrote. “Happy 6th years married.”

Following news of the crash, the comments section of the post filled with messages of sympathy and condolences from friends and members of the community.

Police Investigation Underway

Authorities said an investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing. Police are asking for assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or captured dash-cam footage from the area at the time.

“We are investigating what happened and require the public’s assistance with our enquiries,” said Detective Inspector Stewart from the Collision Investigation Unit, according to local reports.

Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from drivers who were traveling on Moira Road near Nutts Corner around the time of the crash.

Safety Concerns Raised Over Moira Road

Local political leaders have raised concerns about the safety of the stretch of road where the collision occurred. Declan Kearney, a member of Sinn Féin and MLA for South Antrim, said the area has seen repeated serious crashes in recent years.

“The Moira Road has a history of traffic collisions over recent years, many resulting in fatalities and serious injury,” Kearney said.

He pointed specifically to the overtaking lane near the Nutts Corner market, saying it creates added risk for vehicles entering the main roadway.

“I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to all those involved,” he added, noting that he plans to raise the issue with infrastructure officials.

Community Mourns Young Family

The deaths of Cathrene, her unborn child, and her husband have sparked an outpouring of grief, particularly among migrant health-care workers and local residents. As investigators continue their work, the incident has renewed calls for improved road safety measures along one of the region’s busiest routes.

Police say updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
