Politicians in North Carolina Respond to the Historic Verdict of Guilty in the Trial of Former President Trump

Democrats and Republicans in North Carolina have responded to the news that former President Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 counts in a criminal hearing in New York City on Thursday.

This is the first time in history that a past president of the United States has been charged with a crime. Trump paid adult film star Stormy Daniels hush money in 2016. This led to all of the charges.

Wiley Nickel, a Democrat from North Carolina, said in a statement that he was “glad to finally have some honesty” about Trump.

“Listen, the American people have been lied to enough by the dead President. Rep. Wiley Nickel said, “It’s no surprise that people have less faith in the government than ever before.” Thank goodness for this decision because it finally tells the truth and is honest. Now our country can start to heal from President Trump’s hateful and divisive speech. There is no way Donald Trump should ever be in charge again.

Sen. Thom Tillis is on the other side of the line.

he said on social media that he was shocked by the jury’s decision and that he thought the trial was only about politics.

“The verdict shocked me because this case should never have been brought up in the first place.” From the start, it was clear that a radical, politically driven state prosecutor was using all of his power to go after President Trump while ignoring violent criminals. I think and expect that President Trump will appeal this decision to find out important things like whether he had a fair hearing and whether the Manhattan DA even had the power to handle a federal election case.

NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons also wrote to show his shock at Tillis’s news:

It’s finally over for the far-left Democrats, from President Biden to the Manhattan DA, who have been breaking the law. The fake decision today is an insult to the law and hurts President Trump, his family, and everyone who cares about due process.

A statement was also made by Congressman Don Davis, who is from North Carolina’s 1st district, in response to the decision.

The rule of law guides how our country works. The decision was given by the jury, which had the most information about the case. Former President Donald Trump can now file an appeal.

The Democratic Party is using the trial as a tool to hurt the former president, according to North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, who Trump officially backed at a gathering in Greensboro. He called the trial a “sham.”

“The Democrats know they can’t beat Trump in the election, so they use our government against him.” This election should be decided by the people, and I think we will reject this fake trial by voting for President Trump again this November.
