Police in Texas Are Looking for a Man Who Brought a Child With Him During a Bank Robbery

The man who robbed a bank with a child is being sought by the FBI.

In a press release, the FBI’s Dallas office asked the public for help identifying the man who robbed a bank in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 6.

Authorities say the possible robber went into the First Convenience Bank branch inside a Walmart while a child was in a shopping cart. He then walked up to a bank teller and “made” them hand over a note “demanding cash.”

“Once the person had a known amount of U.S. currency, they pushed the child and shopping cart toward the exit and then continued running away while carrying the small child,” the FBI said in the statement.

Person who is thought to have robbed is a “white male” between the ages of 35 and 45, 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall, and has a “thin build.” The FBI said he was wearing a baseball shirt with different colors on it, green cargo shorts, and HeyDude shoes. A sports cap and black sunglasses were also on his head.

A lot of people in Fort Worth were shocked when they heard about the bank robbery. Flora Chavez, who lives in Fort Worth and shopped at the same Walmart, told NBC’s local outlet, “There’s no reason to include a child [in a crime].”

Chavez went on, “That must say a lot about that person.” “Who would want to put their child in that type of position?”

Shirley Ingram, another neighbor, told the news source that she was shocked to hear the news as well, saying, “It just stunned me.”

“I mean to think of that poor baby, to be connected with something like that,” she added. “But she’s too young to know what’s going on.”

Even though the bank robber put the child in danger, Ingram said she thought the robber probably used the kid to his advantage.

“He probably thought if anyone was going to shoot, he would think of that little girl in his arms, so I think he was kind of using her as a shield,” she stated.
