Police Found the Man They Were Looking for in Florida Folded Up in the Dryer, in a Tumble-ready Hideout

Police say they found a 31-year-old guy “folded, not so neatly” inside a dryer. He was wanted in connection with a shooting in southwest Florida this spring.

David Jerome Jackson had been on the run since the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said they had named him as a suspect in a shooting in Pensacola on March 15.

About 55 miles southeast of Mobile, Alabama, the city is on the coast. It is in the northwest corner of the Sunshine State, close to the border with Alabama.

The suspect was found in a house in an area about four miles southwest of downtown Pensacola.

The sheriff’s office said in a news statement that they went to a house in west Pensacola to serve a search warrant after getting a tip about where he might be.

The police went into the house on Friday and searched it thoroughly. After a long search, deputies went to the laundry room and found Jackson “folded, not so neatly inside a remarkably small dryer drum.”

In the report, deputies said that the look on his face was “a mix of guilt, embarrassment, and warm hosiery.”

It was written in the post that “he was pulled from the dryer one limb at a time, as he clung to his tumble-ready hideout.”

A man in Florida was found in the dryer with socks and laundry sheets stuck to his shirt.
Police said that outside the machine, they took three dryer sheets, two socks that didn’t match, and a crumpled-up tissue “from his surprisingly wrinkled Star Wars shirt.”

Officials wrote in the release that Jackson was arrested and charged with shooting into a dwelling, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, property damage, and having a gun while being a convicted criminal.

A man who was found in a dryer was wanted for a killing.
USA TODAY obtained an arrest record that said Jackson was wanted in connection with the March shooting. This was because he went to the home of his nephew’s stepfather to talk to him about how to discipline the boy.

The story says, “Jackson told him to stay away from his nephew.”

A deputy wrote in the arrest report that Jackson then reportedly swung at the stepfather of his nephew and fired one shot at the other person.

When the shots were fired, no one was hurt.
