Philadelphia Woman Missing During Night Shift After Reporting Harassment, Police Say

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A 23-year-old Philadelphia woman, Kada Scott, has been reported missing after disappearing during a night shift at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill, an assisted living facility. Authorities are particularly concerned because Scott had told family and friends that she was being harassed in the days leading up to her disappearance.

Last Known Whereabouts

Scott was last seen on Saturday night around 9:45 p.m. on the 8300 block of Rodney Street, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. She is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. At the time, she was wearing black scrubs for her night shift, which was scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.

Police say that Scott left the facility before her shift ended, and her car remained in the parking lot. She has not been in contact with family or friends since her disappearance, which is described as completely out of character for the normally energetic and communicative young woman.

Family and Community Concern

Scott’s family reported her missing the following day after she failed to return home. Her mother, Kim Matthews, told local media, “I just need her to come home and be safe. I’ve been unable to eat or sleep without knowing she’s okay.”

Her father, Kevin Scott, described the past few days as overwhelming: “She’s my oldest daughter. I love her. These last few days have been crazy. Head spinning. Trying to figure out what’s going on.”

Harassment Concerns

Philadelphia Police Captain John Craig explained during a press conference that Scott had informed family and friends about being harassed via phone in the days before her disappearance. Investigators are actively pursuing leads related to this harassment as part of their ongoing investigation.

Police have interviewed her coworkers, finding nothing extraordinary, but emphasized that the harassment report adds to the heightened concern for her safety.

Efforts to Locate Scott

Authorities have put up missing person posters across Philadelphia urging the public to share any information. Captain Craig stated, “If there’s 100 pieces to a puzzle, you may think your piece is insignificant, but without your piece, that jigsaw puzzle won’t be solved. We plead with anyone who has information to reach out to the police.”

No other leads have been confirmed, and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Call to Action

If anyone has information about Kada Scott’s whereabouts, please contact the Philadelphia Police Department immediately. Share this story and her photo to help the community and authorities locate her safely.
