A person has died after a Forsyth County Emergency Services ambulance collided with another vehicle in Winston-Salem.
According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:11 a.m. on Tuesday in the southbound lanes of the 6600 block of Silas Creek Parkway.
Officials claimed a Jeep Cherokee crossed the center median and collided with a Ford ambulance operated by Forsyth County EMS.
The person who was being transported to the hospital by ambulance died at the scene. It is still uncertain whether the victim died as a result of injuries incurred in the incident. Their identity is being withheld at this time.
The north and southbound lanes of Silas Creek Parkway are now open.
The WSPD’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating. The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
