Pennsylvania Man Allegedly Strangles Woman, Threatens Her Life Over Laptop Dispute

Spring Township, PA – A domestic violence incident unfolded in Pennsylvania after a man allegedly pinned down a woman, strangled her, and held pajama pants over her mouth while threatening to kill her, authorities said. The alleged attack was triggered after the woman tried to unplug the man’s laptop during a loud music session.

Alleged Assault Details

According to the Spring Township Police Department, Jason Lee Hannon, 44, faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, strangulation, and terroristic threats. Officers were called shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Monday after a passerby heard screams of “help, help, help” and “get off me.”

When police arrived, the woman was found bleeding from her face and had been held against her will. Hannon was reportedly armed with a knife. Officers were able to secure the victim, but Hannon barricaded himself inside the home and stabbed himself in the chest, according to the arrest affidavit.

Victim’s Account

The woman told authorities she was sleeping when she awoke to loud music being played by Hannon. Upon attempting to unplug his laptop, Hannon allegedly grabbed her from behind in a bear hug, leading to a struggle. The victim ran upstairs to escape, but Hannon followed.

While brandishing a knife, he allegedly pushed her onto the bed and held pajama pants over her mouth, cutting off her ability to breathe. During the attack, Hannon reportedly said:

“Look what you made me do,”
“This is your fault,”
“I’m going to kill you and then make you kill me.”

The victim attempted to hide in a closet, but Hannon continued the assault and threats. When she exited the closet, Hannon allegedly tackled her to the floor, trying to force her to grab the knife to harm him. She eventually ran toward the back door but was stopped again, fearing for her life.

Police Intervention

Police arrived shortly after the struggle escalated. Hannon eventually discarded the knife from a second-story window and exited the home around 9 a.m. Officers recovered bloody bed sheets and pajama pants, which were taken as evidence of the altercation.

Legal Proceedings

Hannon allegedly admitted to some of the altercation but claimed he “blacked out” during the rest of the incident. He is currently held without bond at Centre County Jail, and his next court date is scheduled for October 1.
